Structure Superintendent

Job Description Summary

The Structure Superintendent is responsible for providing on-site coordination for all phases of Heavy Civil construction projects. This includes coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and supervise Personnel and project operations as it relates to concrete structures
  • Communicate with Personnel on a daily basis to review Daily Work Plans and project requirements for personnel, equipment and material
  • Provide support, direction and guidelines for project operational issues to Project Managers and Subcontractors
  • Assist in the development of lift plans, form systems, support of excavations systems, demolition plans
  • Coordinate and schedule construction equipment for structure related
  • Schedule subcontractors in accordance to required work schedule
  • Develop Daily Work Plans to plan and coordinate labor and equipment forces
  • Review man-hour reports
  • Coordinate labor and equipment needs
  • Review field operations daily basis
  • Attend meetings on assigned projects as required
  • Perform Tool Box talks within company policies
  • Interface with team members to communicate company issues, compliment exemplary work or effort and to address grievances as necessary.
  • Attend internal pre-construction meetings
  • Annually review Personnel for performance
  • Attend and promote daily huddles on a routine basis.
  • Advise project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc. Assist in resolving such problems as required

Qualifications:
  1. 5+ years of experience in the heavy civil construction (ideally specializing in structural concrete work i.e. walls, box culverts, CIP vaults etc.)
  2. Must have at least 5 years’ experience of supervisory experience as a Superintendent
  3. Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
  4. Passion for safety
  5. Working knowledge of computers and experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  6. Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and the project schedule
  7. Strong written, communication and problem-solving skills
  8. Strong leadership and management skills
  9. Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
  10. Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  11. Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment and move up objects up to 50 pounds
  12. Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles
  13. Must have a valid Nebraska Driver’s License
